Just moved the studio to the street side of the house where the light is better. I’m working on a painting of peace depicted as a dove.

Original paintings by Marty McCorkle purchased by collectors now number over two thousand.
Records of total sales through art dealers Esteban Sabar, Gallery Z, and Ricco Renzo Gallery as well as private sales, portraits and commissions accumulate to 2,141 original paintings as wall as 114 “painting sketches” (notable oil sketches done by McCorkle created black paper) over the past 11 years.
Sales records breakdown:
“Not long ago people puzzled at my work or dismissed it as ‘digital cubism’,” says artist Marty McCorkle. “This painting revolution was out of step with our time. I hope that it still is.”
“I paint for younger generations with whom I can see eye to eye, but I’m glad to see my contemporaries purchase my paintings.”
McCorkle extends thanks Esteban Sabar, Berge Zobian of Gallery Z and Ricco Renzo Gallery for “taking a chance on this new vision of what painting can be.”
Marty McCorkle resides and paints in Western Samar, Philippines.

I’m working on a larger format landscape of the filippino landscape of river, trees and clouds resting on the hills in the distance.
The cool tones of blues and grays provide a good starting point for adding some warm, rich oranges and greens to add that tropical warm late afternoon feeling. The composition is strong. Let’s see how it comes out.

A work in progress, Sheryl, Jade & Sons portrait. I’ve lined in facial features. Acrylic on canvas, 28 x 38 inches.
I’ve chosen to restart Sheryl and Jade’s (and children’s) portrait with a more natural pallet of flesh tones and greens.
The painting’s color and brushstrokes became clunky and unmanageable.
Experimenting with the first painting gives me a stronger grasp of the figures, colors sense of place for the second. I’ll paint over the first to reuse the canvas.

Second Sheryl Portrait: this is the second approach, showing the scale (28 x 38 inches) relative to my work table in my studio.

I started working on Sheryl and Jade’s portrait before we went to my art exhibit in Manila, “Legendary”, at Lolo’s Dad’s Bistro. Or rather I was playing with the painting last night.
I had blocked in the figures standardly, but last night I began playing with shapes and it is getting exciting. I’ll paint it more today.
The rain it raineth every day for weeks here in Sama; it rains abundantly and out of season this morning. Strangely, it is not raining in Manila, which is an hour’s plane flight to the north of our island. There is a La Nina, cold water in the Pacific, near our island.
